The Asturian Energy Foundation (FAEN) is the regional energy agency. It was created on July 16, 2001 and is an entity belonging to the public sector attached to the Administration of the Principality of Asturias.

Its purpose is to promote energy projects, carry out and develop advisory, research, awareness and training activities in energy matters.

Its field of action extends to all energy sources, infrastructures, generation, transformation, transport, storage and use technologies, as well as energy management, standards and regulations, energy and financial markets from the perspective both from suppliers and consumers.

Some tasks developed by FAEN are studies, energy planning, dissemination, auditing, training, consulting and advice and financial participation in projects as well as monitoring the evolution of flagship projects as well as facilitating the achievement of the energy objectives proposed in energy policies at regional, national and European levels.
