NAUTILUS Floating Solutions, S.L., is a company whose mission is to design floating foundations for offshore wind. Founded in Bilbao in 2013, NAUTILUS incorporates five leading companies in their fields (a shipyard, a mooring chain manufacture, an EPC contractor, an electrical & electronic network device manufacturer and an industrial services specialist) and a specialized Research Institute. NAUTILUS vision is to become a world reference in the development of floating platforms for the offshore wind energy. NAUTILUS technology is focused on the reduction of the floating wind Levelized Cost of Energy (LCoE). To this goal, NAUTILUS has completed all the design and technology validation phases that allows a safe design with the focus in cost reduction form the very beginning of the design process.

Nautilus offers a semi-submergible floating foundation design that allows the efficient use of the current offshore wind and shipyard supply chain including the assembly of the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) in port and the towing and installation to site with a reduced number of conventional vessels. NAUTILUS has made specific designs for 5MW, 10MW and up to 15MW WTGs for different sites with various sea and wind conditions.

NAUTILUS has performed reduced scale test of its floating foundation concept at various test sites as IH Cantabria or SINTEF Ocean Basin in Trondheim, Norway simulating real life conditions.

NAUTILUS technology and its design process have been analyzed and validated by third parties including some of the most relevant players in the offshore wind energy sector as DNV-GL, Ramboll and ORE Catapult.
