Tekniker is a technology centre established in 1986 whose mission is to develop and transfer technology to improve the competitiveness of industry. Tekniker employs around 300 people and its turnover is close to €25M. It has 25 collaborating companies with which it agrees its strategic R&D plans in order to align itself with their needs. It has an annual portfolio of more than 250 clients with whom it carries out R&D activities, more than 500 companies request technical services and more than 5,000 people attend the dissemination events offered by the centre.
Tekniker is specialized in Advanced Manufacturing Technologies, Surface Engineering, Product Engineering and TEICs. Its current specialization responds to four major socio-economic challenges: (1) Digital and resilient industry, (2) Energy transition, (3) Personalized and connected health and (4) Sustainability.
The field of application of renewable energies is strategic for Tekniker and, in particular, in the case of offshore wind, the lines of research are:
· Development and validation of new materials and components
· Optimized control of generation at wind turbine and wind farm level
· Condition monitoring, new sensors and lifetime estimation
· Digital techniques (in particular digital twin and virtual sensors) for operation and maintenance
· Integrated data management using standards for easy access and sharing of data.
