WELCOME TO SAWCLUSTER

What is the Supercluster Atlantic Wind alliance?

The strategic alliance Supercluster Atlantic Wind (SAW) is composed of Sea of Innovation Cantabria Cluster (SICC), Galician Offshore Energy Group (ASIME) and Consorcio Tecnológico de la Energía de Asturias (AINER).

Its primary goal is to promote offshore wind energy in northern Spain through the collaboration of regional value chains. To achieve this, it has developed a platform that brings together more than 100 companies capable of working in all links of the offshore renewable energy value chain.

HOW TO USE THE PLATFORM

On the left, a drop-down menu allows you to filter companies by cluster, roles, provinces and categories.

The map displays the companies geographically and shows them by colour, according to their role in the value chain. A company with different roles will have as many colours as it has roles in the value chain.

Below the map, a list of the companies is shown with a summary of key data. Clicking on the company will take you to a page with extended information.

INFORMATION

SAW was founded with the aim of creating a shared strategy to position the north of Spain as an international leader in offshore wind energy.

Its specific objectives include

  1. Promoting collaborative projects between the different agents that make up SAW.
  2. Positioning the value chain of northern Spain as an international benchmark in offshore wind energy.
  3. Facilitating the development of offshore wind energy in Iberian Peninsula waters.
  4. Coordinating the implementation of training programmes to address the needs of the industry.
  5. Enabling communication with all levels of government.

The alliance also collaborates in R&D&I projects, such as Bahía H2 Offshore, which proposes the development and construction of an offshore pilot plant for the production of ammonia synthesised from hydrogen produced by means of marine renewable energy.
